Question
My child has been diagnosed with pediatric cerebral palsy, mainly caused by jaundice. He is unable to hold things, cannot speak, and has severe talipes equinovarus, scissors gait, and hypertonia. I want to know if NCR regeneration therapy can be used. Please contact me; the situation is very urgent.
Answer
Hello! Generally speaking, treatment before the age of 3 years is most effective, and since your child is older, the treatment outcome may be slightly less favorable. The treatment for cerebral palsy should be individualized for each child. First, multidisciplinary rehabilitation training is needed. If there are any issues affecting the rehabilitation training or impacting the child’s development, surgical intervention may be necessary, followed by continued rehabilitation training. Talipes equinovarus is one of the most typical symptoms of spastic cerebral palsy in children, characterized by abnormally high muscle tone. If your child experiences problems with lower limb legs, selective posterior tibial nerve root section may be considered to improve the condition. Combined with rehabilitation training after surgery, this can maximize the restoration of autonomous motor function.
