Question
I have congenital infantile cerebral palsy and can’t walk with my legs. However, when I hold onto something, I can walk, but my heels can’t touch the ground. I would like to ask if someone in my situation can wear shoes with insoles for height increase? Would it be possible for me to grow taller? Thank you very much!
Answer
Cerebral palsy patients have lower motor abilities than normal children of the same age. They have poor self-control over movement. The severity of the disease ranges from some stiffness or awkwardness in hands and feet. In severe cases, hands may not be able to grasp objects, and feet may not be able to walk. Some individuals may not be able to roll over, sit up, stand, chew, or swallow correctly. Massage therapy can help cerebral palsy children relax the muscles around phlegm, assist them in joint movements, improve limb and joint deformities, correct abnormal postures, and promote the development of normal motor functions, which is suitable for long-term bedridden patients with cerebral palsy. Massage can also increase muscle nutrition. If recommended for this condition, certain necessary rehabilitation training can be considered.
