Question

What are the treatment methods for cerebral palsy?

Answer

Early symptoms of cerebral palsy often appear in the first half of a child’s life (within 6 months), including muscle weakness and a decrease in spontaneous movement, as well as stiffness in the body. If these symptoms persist for more than 4 months, a diagnosis of cerebral palsy can be made. Some common treatment methods include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, art therapy, physiotherapy (including hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, phototherapy), education (including special education, guidance education, cognitive education), and orthopedic braces. For the child, families need to face the issue realistically and adhere to scientific treatment. If conditions permit, children can go to regular rehabilitation centers for comprehensive training.
