Question

How do I treat neonatal eczema? The baby’s skin has developed eczema, looking red and swollen. What should I do?

Answer

Eczema is an allergic skin disease, which can be treated with symptomatic ointments applied externally. Keep the baby’s face clean and hygienic, avoiding wind stimulation and strong light exposure. If the baby is breastfed, the mother should pay attention to a light diet, avoiding fish, shrimp, and spicy foods. Patients should develop good living habits, maintain regular work and rest , quit smoking and drinking, increase daily exercise to enhance immunity, and avoid recurrence of the condition.
