Question
My baby has developed eczema right after birth, it’s red and swollen, and it looks very concerning. How should I handle neonatal eczema?
Answer
It is recommended to treat the eczema symptoms promptly in the child to prevent the spread of inflammation. First and foremost, maintain the cleanliness and dryness of the affected skin, prevent the child from pulling at it with their hands, and avoid stimulating clothing. Choose soft fabrics. Regionally, you can apply symptomatic medication washes or use symptomatic medications. If you are still breastfeeding, the mother’s diet should be light and avoid spicy and stimulating foods. During treatment, the patient should maintain a moderate diet, regular work and rest , actively participate in physical exercise, adjust mental and physical health, and maintain personal hygiene to avoid bacterial invasion due to decreased resistance.
