Question
What is the newborn jaundice value reference chart?
Answer
Medically, jaundice in newborns under one month old (within 28 days after birth) is referred to as neonatal jaundice. The normal maximum bilirubin level in a newborn’s umbilical cord blood is about 51.3μmol/L (3mg/dl), and it should be less than 171~205μmol/L (10~12mg/dl) four days after birth, and less than 256.5μmol/L (15mg/dl) for premature infants. During treatment, patients need to maintain regular diet and rest, actively participate in physical exercise, adjust physical and mental health, maintain personal hygiene, and avoid bacterial infections due to decreased immunity.
