Question

Dear Doctor, I went for an interview at an airline and had a physical examination at the 452 Western Air Force Hospital. They told me I have liver calcification lesions and asked me to have another examination. It’s not just me; many others have been found to have this issue. I’m someone who is on the heavier side, and could this be related to obesity?

Answer

This condition is quite common. Liver calcification lesions are usually discovered through ultrasound or CT scans and often pose no harm to patients, requiring no special treatment. Calcification lesions on the liver are very common, they do not cause functional symptoms, nor do they form stones, and generally speaking, they do not progress or disappear. I suggest you have another check-up for confirmation.
