Question

My child is three years old and can only call ‘Dad’ and ‘Mom’, but the sound of their voices is unclear. Do I need to take my child to see a doctor? Where should I go? What department should I see?

Answer

If a child indeed has a delayed language development, parents should, under expert guidance, try their best to eliminate or reduce the causes of delayed language development. Although language intervention measures vary for different causes, some principles are similar. More exposure to society and nature can enrich a child’s life and broaden their horizons, which will naturally generate a need for speaking. Coupled with language training, a child’s language ability will develop well. Provide objects with imitable language, and since parents are the closest people to a child, only parents can give children the confidence to overcome difficulties. At all times and in all places, always believe that children have the potential to catch up with normal children of the same age through effort.
