Question

How is hemolytic pathological jaundice treated?

Answer

Newborns with jaundice may reach a bilirubin level of 20, which has now been reduced to 10 through blue light therapy treatment. This type of jaundice is usually caused by hemolytic pathological jaundice. Generally, when the bilirubin level is below 10, the baby can be considered for discharge. It is recommended to observe for an additional 2 days to confirm if there are any recurrent changes in the bilirubin level. If not, an arrangement can be made for discharge observation.
