Question
My daughter is over two years old. She usually sleeps little and late (she often sleeps around 9 hours a day, going to bed at midnight), doctor, is she malnourished?
Answer
Every child has different sleep habits, some more, some less. As long as the child is alert and energetic after waking up and growing and developing normally, there’s no need to worry. Poor sleep in babies could be due to a calcium deficiency. You can start by giving your baby some calcium supplements, and also include vitamin D to promote calcium absorption. Taking your baby outside to get some sunlight can also help with calcium absorption. If a child shows signs of delayed growth and development, it’s important to seek medical attention promptly.
