Question

My son is under a lot of academic pressure, staying up late every night. Recently, he’s been experiencing severe eye pain, which is quite distressing. I took him to the hospital for a check-up, and the doctor said it’s hemorrhagic retinopathy. I’m seeking assistance: What are the benefits and effects of lecithin iodine tablets?

Answer

Vitreous opacity is not a disease name but a common phenomenon in the vitreous. The most common causes are senile degeneration, myopia-related changes, posterior vitreous detachment, and physiological floaters. Physiological floaters do not require treatment. Pathological opacity requires treatment for the underlying disease. Fresh vitreous hemorrhage should be treated with bed rest and hemostatic medications. In severe cases where treatment is ineffective for chronic hemorrhage, vitrectomy may be considered.
