Question

Just had a bowel movement at 2 PM, and I also had one around the same time yesterday. After wiping with toilet paper, I noticed a small amount of blood, only a little on the stool, but not much. It also hurt a bit when I went to the bathroom. I usually drink very little water. Should I see a doctor? Could it be a serious condition?

Answer

Don’t worry too much about this situation. Generally, this is due to issues with your lifestyle and dietary habits. It’s recommended to stick to a light diet, avoid excessive consumption of grilled foods, and advocate for balanced eating, increased dietary fiber intake, and drinking more water. High-fiber diets contain dietary fiber that is not absorbed, which can absorb intestinal moisture to increase stool volume, stimulate the colon, and enhance peristalsis. Foods rich in dietary fiber include wheat bran or brown rice, vegetables, and fruits high in pectin such as mangoes and bananas.
