Question

What are the early symptoms of pediatric cerebral palsy?

Answer

It is generally recommended to start rehabilitation training as early as possible for cerebral palsy. Whether it can heal itself largely depends on factors such as diagnosis, type, severity, and the timing of rehabilitation treatment. Generally, early rehabilitation should be initiated within 6 months, with better recovery outcomes for younger children. By the age of 4-6, after stabilizing the condition, surgical treatment can be considered to correct some skeletal developmental deformities. Cerebral palsy refers to a non-progressive brain injury caused by certain reasons before, during, or early in infancy, characterized mainly by central motor impairment and postural abnormalities. It may also be accompanied by other abnormalities such as intellectual disability, recurrent seizures, behavioral disorders, and sensory impairments.
