Question
My baby is six days old, and recently I’ve noticed that the baby doesn’t seem quite normal. When I try to entertain her, she doesn’t respond much, almost like a cerebral palsy baby. What are the early symptoms of infantile cerebral palsy?
Answer
Infantile cerebral palsy refers to a syndrome of posture and motor function disorders caused by non-progressive brain damage during the immature stage of brain development within one month after birth. This condition is a common central nervous system disease complex in childhood, with the lesion located in the brain and affecting the limbs. Early symptoms include intellectual disability, epilepsy, behavioral abnormalities, mental disorders, as well as visual, auditory, and speech impairments. Treatment mainly includes oral or injectable medications, brain nerve nutrition drugs, muscle relaxants, and blood activation drugs. In addition, long-term rehabilitation therapy is also an important means of treating infantile cerebral palsy. There is currently no complete cure for infantile cerebral palsy.
