Question

My child is 5 months old and often stays still on their stomach, doesn’t play with toys, and has been diagnosed with pediatric cerebral palsy. What are the causes of pediatric cerebral palsy?

Answer

There are many causes of pediatric cerebral palsy, such as maternal rubella infection, syphilis or cytomegalovirus infection during pregnancy, severe anemia, pregnancy poisoning, and frequent exposure to radiation environments; severe asphyxia at birth, severe jaundice, and birth trauma leading to intracranial hemorrhage in infants; and various central nervous system diseases in infants after birth, or frequent occurrence of persistent seizures. These factors may lead to brain damage or developmental defects in the brain, thereby triggering the occurrence of pediatric cerebral palsy.
