Question

My child has been suffering from persistent diarrhea for the past week, but the stool looks normal. How should I treat it?

Answer

For a baby’s diarrhea, although the stool test is normal and excludes the possibility of bacterial or viral infection, it is usually caused by intestinal physiological reasons, such as physiological diarrhea. In these cases, symptomatic treatment is usually sufficient and there is no need to use antibiotics or antiviral drugs; simply enhance care and keep the buttocks clean.
