Question

My baby is three months old and has a lot of nasal mucus every day. What could be the reason for this? Why would this happen even when the baby doesn’t feel cold? I bought a nasal mucus remover, but I can’t get any out. It’s been several days now. How should I handle this?

Answer

Hello, I’m glad to answer your question: Actually, there is no need to handle it, as the nasal mucus will fall off on its own. You can use a cotton swab dipped in water and gently rotate it in the baby’s nostrils to remove the mucus along with it. If the amount of mucus is not large enough to affect breathing, there is no need for artificial removal; it will naturally fall off. Please be careful not to harm the baby’s nostrils, as this could potentially lead to issues like rhinitis later in life.
