Question

What are the symptoms of neonatal pneumonia?

Answer

Neonatal pneumonia is a very serious condition. Depending on the age of birth and the child’s cause, it can be categorized into aspiration pneumonia and infectious pneumonia. Aspiration pneumonia typically means that the child has inhaled some amniotic fluid into the lungs. At this point, certain lung function test phenomena will be displayed. Usually, this lasts for more than three days. Some cases of meconium aspiration into the lungs can be relatively severe. Or milk droplets aspirated into the lungs can cause suffocation. This leads to symptoms such as difficulty breathing, cyanosis, and nasal flaring. Infectious pneumonia can also cause difficulty breathing, cyanosis, shortness of breath, and fever. There may also be signs of poor spirits, difficulty latching onto the breast, and vomiting white foam.
