Question

My baby accidentally caught a cold a week ago and it hasn’t been getting better. How should I match the diet for my baby’s cold?

Answer

During a cold, the diet should primarily consist of light and easy-to-digest foods such as porridge, noodles, lotus root powder, milk, soy milk, oranges, cabbage, and carrots. Drink plenty of water to promote urination, ensure adequate rest, keep the indoor air fresh, and maintain suitable temperature and humidity. Colds are usually caused by viruses and have a certain course of illness, approximately seven to ten days. Antiviral medications can only make you feel more comfortable but generally cannot shorten the course of the illness.
