Question

What are the clinical manifestations of pediatric tonsillitis?

Answer

Many children may experience recurrent tonsillitis. Generally, children may experience throat pain, and some may have a fever, either persistent low-grade or as high as 40 degrees Celsius. The fever may be accompanied by chills and headaches. Most children may feel generally weak, and the tonsils may become red and swollen. In some cases, severe complications such as nephritis or sepsis may occur, which could pose a direct threat to life. It is advised that parents seek medical treatment promptly if their child exhibits the aforementioned symptoms.
