A 20-month-old baby should be able to walk independently by now; if not, it might be worth considering a check-up at the hospital. Fine motor skills in the hands should also be developing, allowing the baby to turn pages and scribble random patterns. At this stage, the artwork may consist of unclosed circles or random lines, and it’s not necessary to expect specific shapes from the baby. Additionally, the baby may have started climbing stairs, and some children might show movements indicating a desire to learn to run.
