Question

I have a small fleshball on the side of my child’s ear, and there’s also a patch of hair growing underneath. Can these be treated to disappear? If so, where can I have it done for cosmetic purposes? Thank you!

Answer

Based on your description, it may be a supernumerary ear, often caused by fetal development abnormalities. It may affect appearance but generally causes no other discomfort. It can be removed through a minor surgical procedure, typically costing a few hundred yuan. Sebaceous cysts are usually not problematic and do not require excessive concern.
