Question
What is cerebral palsy?
Answer
Cerebral palsy is a syndrome caused by non-progressive brain damage due to certain reasons before, during, or in the early infancy. It primarily manifests as motor disabilities, abnormal posture, intellectual impairment, and sensory disturbances. Children with cerebral palsy have lower motor abilities and poor self-control over movement compared to normally developing children of the same age. In mild cases, it may only be evident in slightly uncoordinated hand and foot movements, while in severe cases, limb function is significantly limited.
