Question
What was the duration of this illness and the symptoms? How effective has the treatment been?
Answer
How should post-infectious viral meningitis be cared for? What are the precautions to take?
Response
Hello. Due to the characteristics of viral meningitis, patients may experience neck stiffness, inability to bend their head, fever, vomiting, and photophobia. When caring for them, it’s important to block out light, keeping the lights in the room always on. If possible, use a small hand towel to cover their eyes, or keep a stack of sanitized tissues by the pillow for easy access when they need to vomit. Additionally, prepare some straws for drinking water. If the patient is unable to get out of bed initially, prepare some flat disposable diapers for their convenience. Currently, the patient’s general condition is not good, so please continue to monitor the treatment effectiveness.
