Question
My baby is 2 months old, and I’ve noticed lately that there are small red spots on the baby’s body, and the baby is unwilling to breastfeed and cries constantly. The elders at home say the baby has toxin, and since the baby is small, I don’t want to use medicine. I would like to ask how to deal with the baby’s toxin if it isn’t washed clean?
Answer
Newborns with a mild toxin condition can usually heal on their own. Toxin refers to the baby’s skin detoxification reaction and does not necessarily mean the baby is sick; it is simply the body expelling toxins. The time for toxin excretion usually does not last long, typically within one month, and most babies will heal on their own. Some babies may take longer to detoxify, but most will not exceed two months.
