Question

I am a new mother, and since I haven’t bought a baby bed, I usually sleep with the baby. Now that it’s cold, the blanket is bigger, and I’m always worried that I might accidentally cover the baby with the blanket, causing suffocation. I want to know if sudden infant death syndrome can be contagious?

Answer

Newborns have not fully developed body tension, and if they experience suffocation, they often do not show obvious struggle movements, making it difficult for parents to discover it in time. It is best to avoid sharing blankets with adults and to use a small blanket to wrap the baby separately for safety.
