Question
My baby is almost four years old and has been frequently wetting the diaper since March this year, only a little bit each time, about the size of her palm. I suspect it might be an enuresis issue. What should I do, experts?
Answer
- For treating urinary tract infections, if a doctor examines the child and finds a urinary tract infection, antibiotics should be used immediately to control the infection.
- For cases where the child’s bladder capacity is found to be smaller, bladder function training should be conducted: Encourage the child to drink more water during the day and extend the interval between urinations as much as possible. Encourage the child to interrupt urination during midstream, count from 1 to 10, and then finish urinating. This will improve the control ability of the bladder sphincter and gradually increase bladder capacity.
