Question

These days, my child seems to eat nothing at all, and I suspect they might have anorexia. How should I deal with a child’s anorexia?

Answer

Children’s anorexia may be caused by improper feeding in daily life. To treat children’s anorexia, the best approach is to ensure that children eat at regular intervals and in appropriate amounts from a young age, and to encourage them to eat independently to increase their interest in eating. In terms of timing, for example, three meals a day with a 4-5 hour interval between meals is recommended; however, if four meals are consumed daily, the interval between meals should be 3-4 hours. Parents should ideally limit their children’s intake of snacks and beverages. If necessary, offer small amounts of fresh fruits, yogurt, or juice to stimulate appetite.
