Question
What are the causes of children’s hyperactivity? I’ve recently noticed that my baby often shows hyperactive behavior and I want to understand the possible reasons.
Answer
Children’s hyperactivity can be caused by various factors: first, young children have not yet developed habits of concentration, and their attention is easily distracted by various things, making them appear inattentive and restless. Second, when children engage in monotonous and boring activities for a long time, they may lose interest and shift their attention to other aspects, resulting in some minor movements. Moreover, some children are naturally full of energy and need to engage in activities to burn off their excess energy, thus showing hyperactive and restless behavior. Finally, children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) find it difficult to maintain long-term interest in anything and cannot focus on anything, which also leads to their hyperactive behavior.
