Question
I’ve been feeling immense stress lately and am quite anxious. I’m not sure why my lower limbs feel like they’re walking in a scissors gait. During the physical examination, the doctor mentioned the possibility of having pediatric hydrocephalus. Can this condition be cured?
Answer
Pediatric hydrocephalus presents with various symptoms, which can differ based on the age of onset. In acute infantile hydrocephalus, there are typically obvious symptoms of increased intracranial pressure, such as widened sutures, bulging fontanelles, thinning scalp, and clearly visible scalp veins. Under strong light exposure to the head, a phenomenon of cranial transillumination may occur.
