Question

What is the cause of the persistent crying in a three-year-old cerebral palsy child? He hasn’t learned to walk, talk, or grasp things yet. What should be done?

Answer

Early symptoms of pediatric cerebral palsy include persistent crying, sensitivity to noise and changes in position, difficulties in feeding and care, abnormal development and motor skills, usually accompanied by intellectual disability, language, and visual cognitive impairments. As the child grows older, symptoms may further manifest as muscle tension, abnormal reflexes, postural abnormalities, even muscle spasms, joint deformities and dislocations, and fractures. Treatment methods for cerebral palsy include rehabilitation training, surgery, traditional Chinese medicine combined with rehabilitation training, and cell transplantation, among others. However, all treatment methods require rehabilitation training, and the combination of traditional Chinese medicine with rehabilitation training may yield better results.
