Question

My daughter was born half a month ago, and she often coughs after eating milk. I am very worried; adults find coughing uncomfortable, and I think children do too, just that they can’t express it themselves. What should I do, doctor?

Answer

Baby coughing is a normal physiological phenomenon, possibly due to underdeveloped abdominal muscles. Don’t worry too much. Try feeding in small, frequent amounts to reduce the frequency of your baby’s coughing. You can also offer a little warm water or distract the baby in other ways to improve the baby’s coughing symptoms.
