Question

Suddenly, our child developed a fever, with small red spots on their face and back, and we don’t know what’s going on. We rushed to the hospital for a check-up and found out it was roseola. Now there’s another problem – diarrhea. How should we handle diarrhea in children with roseola? What medicine should we take?

Answer

Children’s diarrhea can be caused by the common cold, indigestion, medication stimulation, and so on. You can give your child some anti-inflammatory and anti-diarrheal medication. Make sure your child drinks plenty of water to prevent dehydration. The child’s acute rash usually disappears on its own within 1-2 days. Pay attention to your child’s diet and avoid giving them spicy and irritating foods. Try to minimize the intake of allergenic foods, such as eggs and milk.
