Question
What are the expressions of cerebral palsy in children?
Answer
Some children with cerebral palsy may only use one hand and not both, have difficulty swallowing during meals, commonly push out milk and food with their tongues, find it hard to close their mouths, exhibit abnormal behavior such as crying easily, being irritable, poor sleep, or being extremely quiet and sleeping excessively. By three months of age, some children may not smile. Up to 39% to 50% of children with cerebral palsy may experience epilepsy due to fixed lesions in the brain, especially those with severe intellectual impairment. It is recommended to bring the child to the hospital for an early examination and accurate diagnosis.
