Question

My baby is now just two years old (a boy). Three and a half months ago, he had a head burn from hot oil, and it hasn’t grown back yet. What treatment methods or medications are available? Will it grow back in the future? Please consult a doctor. Thank you!

Answer

Typical burns, such as from hot water, steam, or even hot oil, do not affect hair growth. Only severe flame burns, industrial accidents, or burns caused by electric motors can lead to regional alopecia. Additionally, regional infections may also cause alopecia, but the head and face have strong resistance to infection, and with proper treatment, severe infections are unlikely. Improper treatment may lead to bacterial consumption of infected follicles and subsequent alopecia.
