Question
Sometimes there are uncomfortable feelings, not sure if it’s serious. Sometimes there’s a problem with gaze palsy. I’m really scared it might be pediatric hydrocephalus. Do I need surgery?
Answer
Pediatric hydrocephalus presents with a variety of symptoms, which can differ based on the age of the patient. In infants with acute hydrocephalus, symptoms of increased intracranial pressure are typically quite obvious, such as deformation of the head, thinning of the scalp, and prominent scalp veins. Treatment methods include surgery and medication, and the specific approach should be determined according to the doctor’s advice.
