Question
What symptoms may be present in children with tonsillitis?
Answer
If a child indeed has tonsillitis, the initial symptom will be throat pain, which may cause the child to have difficulty swallowing and frequent crying. The child may also have a fever, which can be as high as 40 degrees Celsius in severe cases, along with headaches or general body aches. At this point, the tonsils may become red and swollen. If the condition continues to worsen, it may lead to serious complications such as sepsis or acute rheumatic fever. It is recommended to observe the child’s condition and seek medical diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible if the illness is severe.
