Question
Dear parents, our daughter is currently 1 year old. Initially, she experienced a sore throat while speaking, and her voice became hoarse. It seems she has had a slight fever that hasn’t gone away. How should we treat our child’s tonsillitis?
Answer
In terms of treatment, it is generally recommended to follow the doctor’s instructions and give the child an antibiotic. Regional treatments can include laser therapy or drug irrigation. If the sore throat symptoms are severe, it is suggested to use painkillers to relieve the symptoms. For fever management, choose cooling methods based on body temperature; below 38.5 degrees Celsius can be treated with physical cooling methods, and above 38.5 degrees Celsius, oral fever-reducing medicine can be taken. Surgery is also a viable option, suitable for children with recurrent attacks. During this period, make sure the child gets enough rest and consumes plenty of vegetables and fruits.
