Question
Dear parents, my son is just over 9 months old. Initially, he had a slight sore throat, and I noticed that his coughing seemed more severe. He also had a bit of a fever and seemed less energetic. How should we treat low fever in children with tonsillitis?
Answer
If a child has tonsillitis, anti-inflammatory medications, local irrigation or spray treatment, or possibly injection of medication into the tonsils can be used. Painkillers can be provided to alleviate throat pain, and oral antipyretics can be used to reduce fever. If symptoms fail to improve, seek medical attention promptly. If a child frequently experiences tonsillitis, surgical treatment may be necessary. During this period, ensure the child gets sufficient rest and consumes plenty of fruits and vegetables.
