Question
My daughter is 6 years old, and she has a bit of a sore throat, with difficulty swallowing. She also has a persistent high fever. How should I treat my child’s tonsillitis and sore throat?
Answer
It is generally recommended to follow the doctor’s instructions and administer anti-inflammatory medication to the child. Options include laser therapy or regional treatment with medication irrigation. For children with significant sore throat, painkillers can be considered. In cases of low-grade fever, physical cooling(temperature reduction) can be performed. If the body temperature exceeds 38.5°, it is advisable to seek medical attention promptly. In cases of multiple acute severe episodes or complications, it is recommended to undergo tonsillectomy two weeks after the acute inflammation subsides. After the condition improves, it is suggested to engage in moderate exercise to boost immunity, in order to prevent recurrence.
