Question

At 20 weeks, I didn’t know what the situation would be, and later found out that the baby was sick. How should I properly treat baby jaundice?

Answer

Newborn jaundice is mainly due to a disorder in bilirubin metabolism, and physiological jaundice usually resolves around 14 days. Breastfed newborns have higher bilirubin concentrations, which can lead to milk jaundice. In most cases, no special treatment is needed; as long as the baby maintains a good mental state and normal feeding, it is sufficient. Only when the jaundice is severe or accompanied by abnormal mental state should pathological jaundice be considered.
