Question

My child is 12 years old, male, and quite young. Lately, he’s been acting strangely and seems quite uncomfortable. After visiting the hospital, we found out he has this condition. I’d like to know what the clinical manifestations of ADHD are?

Answer

ADHD is characterized by hyperactivity, inattention, and poor handwriting. In addition, children with ADHD may also exhibit obstinacy, social withdrawal, a lack of self-control, immature and strange behavior, physical twitches, or aimless behavior such as playing around, skipping school, fighting, and even lying and stealing. Teaching usually has no effect on these children. In very few cases, personality and behavioral defects persist into adulthood. This is what we refer to as childhood ADHD. ADHD typically begins before the age of 6. If a child just enjoys playing, there’s no problem.
