Question
What are the factors leading to pediatric epilepsy?
Answer
Epilepsy is a chronic condition characterized by sudden abnormal impulses in brain neurons, leading to temporary brain dysfunction. It can be caused by factors such as trauma, postpartum injury, various brain diseases, poisoning, metabolic diseases, genetic disorders, congenital factors, heredity, extreme shock, and psychological factors. Although epilepsy may have limited short-term impact on patients, frequent recurrence over a long period can severely affect a patient’s physical and mental health as well as intelligence.
