Question
My 9-year-old is feeling unwell, and I’m not sure what’s wrong. I’m very worried. Could you please tell me what are the symptoms of pediatric epilepsy?
Answer
Patients may suddenly lose consciousness, followed by a severe pain characterized by tonic spasms, often accompanied by screams, blue face color, tongue bite injuries, vomiting of froth or blood foam, dilated pupils, and intense pain that lasts for tens of seconds or minutes before naturally stopping and returning to a state of coma. Other symptoms include varying degrees of consciousness disorders and obvious impairments in thinking, pain sensation, emotions, and psychomotor functions. Some patients may exhibit automatism such as absentmindedness or sleepwalking. Epilepsy is one of the common diseases in neurology. Early diagnosis of epilepsy can be effectively treated with a proper, scientific treatment approach.
