Question

My child’s bowel movements have recently become less frequent, and there seems to be some difficulty in doing so. I’m worried they might be constipated. What are the solutions for newborn constipation?

Answer

Since the baby is not drinking much milk, it’s natural for them not to have frequent bowel movements. Parents should be aware of this. At this stage, the baby’s growth and development mechanism is not yet perfect, and their ability to perceive their surroundings is poor. Therefore, the baby doesn’t necessarily need a diaper change when they’re asleep. You need to wake them up, feed them, and then let them take a nap. Patients should develop regular lifestyle habits, persist with treatment, and maintain a light diet along with doing aerobic exercises. This way, they can enhance their own immunity and reduce the risk of illness.
