Question
A 35-year-old man didn’t know what the situation would be like until he found out he was sick. What are the late-stage symptoms of oral cancer?
Answer
Late-stage symptoms of oral cancer include:
- Pain: Early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the mouth usually causes no pain or only a sensation of abnormality or mild tenderness, with more pronounced pain occurring when a mass ulcer forms, but the pain is less severe than inflammation. There is a possibility that the tumor can spread to other parts.
- Toothache: Can be caused by gingival cancer, or due to tongue cancer, hard palate cancer, floor of mouth cancer, or tongue cancer spreading and invading the gingiva or tongue nerve.
- Earache, Throat Pain: May be symptoms of oropharyngeal cancer, or tongue body cancer invasion.
